If you had told me 2 years ago that I would finally lose the weight and keep it off, all while enjoying real, delicious food…I wouldn’t have believed you. I went on my first diet when I was 12 and it was a vicious cycle ever since. Yo-yo dieting over and over again. I’d be super strict, count every calorie, never miss a workout, reach my goal, then boom…one bad day turned into one bad week and before I knew it all the weight was back plus a pound or 5 or 10. I felt like I was fighting a never ending battle.
After having my second child I lost most of the weight then I just stopped. I’d come to the conclusion that I was getting older and this was just going to be my reality. Then I started hearing about keto. Eat more fat!? This was insanity to me bc my whole life was about whole grains and low fat.
I tried it anyways. Nothing else had worked long term, so why not?
So here I am today, I did lose the weight and have maintained it for 19 months now. I never feel deprived. I love trying new recipes. And I feel I am in the best shape of my life.
Not sure where to start? Ask for help. And just do it. Don’t get overwhelmed, keep it simple, drink more water and move your body. You deserve to give it one more try. I promise you it’s worth it.
