It’s GERMANY week! 🇩🇪 To kick off the week I started with a classic dish, sauerkraut, potatoes, and sausage. The recipe is labeled Polish but is very similar to German recipes, I have a lot of Polish family history so this was a great opportunity to incorporate it. This was a crockpot recipe so it was super easy to prep for. If you don’t like sauerkraut you probably might want to do some adjusting on the ingredient amounts! I’m not a huge fan of it myself, BUT I added extra potatoes and sausage (nearly double) and really enjoyed it. If you do this it just might need an extra hour or so in the crockpot to make sure the potatoes are soft enough. Okay, recipe time…

Sausage, Sauerkraut, and Potatoes Recipe:
• 2 (14oz) cans sauerkraut • 5 or 6 (or more) potatoes peels and cut into large chunks • 1 cup water
• 1 lbs Polish (smoked) sausage cut into chunks (I doubled this)
• 1 tsp caraway seeds
• 1 bay leaf (optional, I did not use)
• 1/4 tsp pepper
