Since we’re all stuck indoors and mostly stuffing our faces, we kicked off a fun initiative with @ftglobetrotter today and I finally have an excuse to post food pictures. You can too: share your home cooking with us or post using the hashtag #globetrottercooks — and include where you are and the details of what you’ve made — and we’ll publish a selection of the tastiest and most ingenious dishes in the FT 🤘🏼
.
Here are a few pics of some recent meals from the Blasina-Wren abode. Tonight we made one of our favourite, quick weeknight throw together jobs: linguine with prawns, garlic, chili, wine and cherry tomatoes with wilted rocket, lemon zest and parmesan (the last ingredient being controversial in our household because yes, it’s a seafood dish, but I refuse to eat pasta without parm because I’m not a monster)
.
Other items: – duck breast basted in a hoisin sauce with basmati and wild rice, green onion batons, rocket and a mango-chili salsa
– giant homemade sausage rolls (the picture may be deceiving but they were huge… we got four lunch servings out of them and we’re gluttonous)
– a green pea risotto with pan-fried scallops and balsamic drizzle
– a prawn, chorizo and cannellini bean stew with fennel, grilled red pepper and courgette, with garlic butter toast
– the world’s biggest banana loaf that we ate in record time
